Introduction
EnergyPod are pleased to announce their power storage module, which forms one of the building blocks of their AmPS and AmCHP Systems. The EnergyPod Power Storage Module is also available as a stand alone module. An efficient way of storing electricity in batteries is an essential part of the effective use of renewable energy.
Installation
EnergyPod are able to supply a range of battery options for their range of power systems
The standard range of batteries provided is the Elecsol battery, which comes in a range of sizes, the 200Ampere Hour version is used in chains of 4 batteries to provide the 48Volt dc supplies that feed the inverter system.

The EnergyPod power module is supplied to match our engine–generator module, and contains typically 20 to 24 batteries - specific to the application. The EnergyPod power module is pre-rewired and tested in our factory. On-site wiring is a minimum, this being restricted to the fitting of plugs and sockets as appropriate and connection to the engine-generator and the customer’s consumer unit.

Servicing
At present we are recommending that our batteries are checked every 6 months whereas our longer term aim is to service the system once a year to include: engine oil, filter change and battery service checks.
-
The batteries require checking and possible topping up every six-months, otherwise maintenance is negligible.
-
The control module at one end of the power module is optional, and requires a minimum of maintenance.
-
The wiring from the source of renewable energy is via the control module.
